Confession time

Download wordart here ***Link is fixed***

Ok, the confession isn't what I did as much as it is that this isn't the first time I've done something like this. LOL!

I was leaving school early today to get to my doctor's appointment and the sub was late. Not that big of a deal really since my class was at lunch when I was scheduled to leave. I hung around for a few minutes, got their Zero the Hero snack put out and planted the note that Zero was leaving for the class.

Still no sub and I needed to leave. I gathered my things and went to the office in my building. I asked if I should call the main office to let them know that I needed to leave and the sub wasn't there. I was told not to worry about it, to just go and they would take care of it.

I get to the hospital at exactly 12:15. I'm checking in with the receptionist and she looked very confused. I started to feel uncomfortable and said, "I'm sorry if I'm late." She asked if I would give her a minute as she kept looking for something on the computer. Finally, she starts laughing and tells me I'm not late because my appointment wasn't until 2:15. lol! I was two hours early!

They fit me in so that I wouldn't have to leave and come back. I was really glad they did that because I didn't want to pay the extra $5 for parking that going back a second time would have required.

Yep, just another day in my life!

Download wordart here

It's nice to have another Monday over. lol! I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'll only be working half a day. Hopefully, I can get in a nap once I get home.

I just feel bad about leaving early on Zero the Hero Day. 20 days of school already!

One of the teachers I work with has a three year old son that has just had surgery for a brain tumor. If you could send up a prayer for them I would appreciate it and I know she would too.

Enjoy your day!

I promise this is a true story!

Download wordart here

You know those things that happen to you that you're afraid no one will believe? Well, this is one of those things!

We had open house at school Thursday night. I live just far away from my school that isn't worth fighting the traffic to go home then back to school, so I just hang out and work in my room until it's time for parents to show up.

Well, I'm getting my usual back to school cold (one of the perks of teaching kindergarten lol!) and have been really tired this week. I decided to run out around 4:30 to do some errands and pick up some dinner. I made two stops before I foolishly decided to face the crowd at Wal Mart in order to pick up some Cuban crackers I wanted for the cooking/food project at school.

I think I've shared my lack of love for Wal Mart before so I won't waste time going there again, but I really do hate that place. LOL! I'm moving around/through the crowds of people as quickly as I can so I can get out of there before totally losing my cool. Suddenly, I hear this man talking very loudly and excitedly. I wrote it off as just another crazy person at the Wal Mart and kept moving.

I noticed that the voice was getting closer to me and finally turned around to see what was going on. The man seemed to be heading right for me and even though he was smiling I was kind of worried. I wish I could tell you that I took off running or even that I whipped out some mace and struck a Charlie's Angels pose to scare the man off, but I can't. Instead, I just stood there staring at this crazy man who seemed to be yelling at me and wondered why in the heck I had decided to go into that store. Seriously, Cuban crackers---not that important!

Well, I'm not sure exactly why I realized who the man was, but it probably has something to do with not understanding what he was saying. Yep, it was the taxi driver I had when my car broke down. The one who talked constantly and I just agreed with him because I didn't understand what he was saying.

Over 2 million people live in Dade County and I run into that taxi driver. lol! Plus, just think of all the people that get in and out of that taxi and he remembered me. Gross!

Men are too funny!

Download wordart here

Orange Croc Guy shows up tonight and says he needs his emergency key. I laugh at him for locking himself out as he safely tucks the key away in his pocket. The next thing I know he is laughing and saying, "I got you! I got you!"

Turns out he finally found and reclaimed the last high score on his wii games. Honestly, I had forgotten all about that! I really didn't know he was still trying to reclaim his number one spot. LOL!

So, he reclaimed his spot and got his emergency key to keep me from going back in and messing with his games again. Well, I couldn't mess with his games so I decided to mess with him!

ME: Ok, big deal, you've got your key. Would you also like the copies I made of it?
OCG: Copies? You made copies? Like, more then one...of my house key?
ME: Have you forgotten that the very first words I ever said to you were, "I promise I'm not stalking you."?
OCG: You've got to be kidding. You wouldn't really make copies would you?
ME: It's like Two and a Half Men except you live alone, this isn't Malibu and my name isn't Rose.
OCG: I think I'll just change the locks.
ME: Well, that would slow me down a little, but it won't stop me. You'll probably be better off if you just move.
OCG: Don't think I won't! I will! I'll move!
ME: I'll miss you.

LOL! I couldn't stop laughing at him! He was so worked up I think he probably would have moved and he probably would have done it in the middle of the night without telling anyone.

He finally calmed down, forgot all about his wii games and returned his emergency key to my drawer. This means that I'm free to mess with his games again. When he least expects it....lol!

We got the first postcard of the year in the mail today! It came all the way from Holland!!! It was a beautiful card with several different pictures on it and the kids were so excited.
When we looked at Holland on the map one kid was especially amazed and just kept asking, "How did it get here?" He just didn't seem to understand that the postal system can bring things from other countries too.
Technically, it was the second postcard of the year since a parent handed me one from Tampa, but it was the first to arrive in the mail. lol! Thank you for making our Monday so special!
Don't forget to sign up for my blog-o-versary give away! Sign ups are open until the 19th then I'll pick a winner!

A bad day turned good

Download wordart here

I was so not in the mood to get out of bed this morning! When we go back to school after a holiday or long weekend we usually find two things...1. Some local gang has tagged our building...2. The air conditioning isn't working.

The good news is that our building wasn't tagged. The bad news is that our AC was broken.

So, I entered a very hot and stuffy classroom expecting to have a very long, tiring and hot day. I got a note from a parent saying that her son told her I "smile alot" and make him "not shy". My day instantly improved!

Then the frosting on my cake came when we were introduced to our new Kindergarten teacher! YIPPEE!!!! Looks like we're actually going to try and follow the state class size amendment after all!!!

THEN.....The AC got fixed and the whole building cooled down.

Yep, it was a good day!

Problems at Mediafire

Download wordart here

Apparently there are some issues with mediafire right now so some of my download links are working correctly. Hopefully, they'll get everything sorted out soon. SORRY!!!

My Favorite Blogger

Download wordart here

There are lots of blogs that I like to read. As a matter of fact, I don't have a blog list posted because it would be way toooooo long. lol!

Like most things in my life, when it comes to blogs I have very eclectic tastes. I like the craft blogs, the entertainment blogs, travel blogs, wanna be writer blogs, the I'm mad about everything blogs, the blogs that people use to advertise products and the blogs that people use to give us all glimpses into their lives.

My all time favorite blog is written by Juliana (Jewels) and is called A Blonde Walks Into A Blog. Jewels got pneumonia back in July and is still sick.

It's been a year and a half since I had my own hospital stay because of pneumonia and I am still amazed when my doctor reminds me of just how close to death I came. Actually, I am still dealing with some complications that came about as a result of that illness and it's been less then a year since my friend, April, lost her husband to pneumonia.

Pneumonia is a nasty, nasty thing! It's bad enough all by itself, but Jewels has other health problems too. She has finally posted an update on her blog for the first time in a month and she could really use some prayers.

If you've never visited her blog before check out some of her older posts. Her open letters to her son and to her brother who committed suicide are beautiful. Have your tissues ready though cause if you're anything like me...you'll be crying.

Back to normal!

I've got my car back from the shop now and all is right in my world once again. Driving home from work in my own car and being able to use the express lanes was like winning the lottery. I'm telling you, if I were a musician I would write a love song to/for/about the express lanes. LOL!
We celebrated our first Zero the Hero Day of the school year on Friday. One of the boys in my class...the shortest skinnest little 5 year old you've ever seen...only had one thing to say about Zero the Hero and he said it to everyone. Here's the direct quote...."If I see him, I'm going to punch him in the face." He said this with lots of emotion while shaking his little fists in the air. I'm not sure why he decided not to like Zero the Hero, but I am glad he didn't figure out that I'm Zero the Hero. LOL!
